Carlsbad in the b∙long Spotlight: Shannon

In the heart of Carlsbad Village, where beach mornings turn into slow, sun-filled afternoons, Shannon Blas has built a life rooted in intention, evolution, and connection. If you’ve taken a mid-morning class, you’ve likely seen her — steady, consistent, and always bringing a warm, grounded energy into the room.

An empty nester, Shannon recently celebrated a beautiful new chapter as her son got married — welcoming a daughter-in-law into the family — and this year, she and her husband celebrate 30 years of marriage. Milestones that reflect the same sense of commitment and care she brings to every part of her life.

Her career has evolved just as thoughtfully. She began as a Registered Dietitian, later transitioned into real estate, and eventually found her stride with Arbonne, where she’s spent the past 20 years working in clean skincare and nutrition.

More recently, a new creative chapter has unfolded. What started as helping a friend design an Airbnb quickly grew into a word-of-mouth interior styling business — now known as Refresh Designs. Like so much in Shannon’s life, it happened organically, built on trust, relationships, and a natural eye for creating beautiful spaces. Shannon also brought her design expertise to life within our Carlsbad studio, helping shape the space into the calm, elevated environment our community knows and loves.

Her introduction to b∙long came through a friend and a few ClassPass visits, but it wasn’t until she connected with Liz — and committed to showing up consistently — that everything shifted.

“I was told if I committed to 3–4 classes a week, I would start to see and feel a difference,” she shares. “And I did.”

In just over a month, Shannon saw measurable results — a decrease in body fat and an increase in muscle mass — but for her, the impact has gone far beyond the numbers.

“I can definitely feel a difference,” she says. “But what I love most is the community. I’ve met so many incredible women.”

A regular in the mid-morning classes, Shannon credits instructors Grace, Marie, Ellie, and Jen for creating an experience that keeps her coming back — one where she knows she’ll leave feeling stronger, more energized, and more connected than when she walked in.

That feeling is part of what defines b∙long for her.

“I know I’m going to feel really good walking out,” she says.

For Shannon, this practice is about more than fitness — it’s about longevity, intention, and taking care of herself in a way that supports the life she’s building.

“It means taking care of yourself and surrounding yourself with other fabulous women,” she says. “I want to feel amazing and age gracefully.”

It’s a perspective that feels deeply aligned with the spirit of b∙long — not chasing trends or intensity, but building something lasting.

Shannon, we’re so grateful you’re part of the b∙long community.
