What kind of workout can I find at b long?
b • long offers a modern Pilates experience that's more intense and fat-burning compared to traditional Pilates. Our 50-minute classes use an XFormer machine combined with slow, controlled movements to create a challenging full-body workout. You'll engage in exercises that target your core, arms, legs, and glutes, with fewer breaks and shorter transitions, leading to a more intense workout in less time. This approach helps build strength, improve flexibility, and enhance overall body tone while also engaging core muscles that traditional weight lifting might neglect.
-
Is this workout suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! At b • long, we welcome all fitness levels. Whether you're a seasoned Pilates enthusiast or brand new to the practice, our classes are designed to help you reach your personalized health & fitness goals. Our skilled instructors provide modifications and guidance to ensure everyone gets a safe and effective workout. If you're new to Pilates or fitness in general, don't hesitate to inform the instructor before class so they can offer extra support.
-
How challenging is the workout for experienced exercisers?
Experienced exercisers will find our classes both challenging and rewarding. The intensity of our modern Pilates approach creates a more demanding workout than traditional Pilates. The resistance provided by the XFormer machine can be adjusted to continually challenge you as you progress. Many athletes and fitness enthusiasts incorporate b • long classes into their training regimens for cross-training benefits and to target muscles that might be overlooked in other workouts.
-
Do you offer beginner or introductory classes?
Yes, we do! At b • long, we're committed to making modern Pilates accessible to everyone, regardless of their fitness level or prior experience. That's why we offer our specialized "Foundations" classes, which are perfect for beginners and those looking to refine their technique.
-
How often should I take classes to see results?
For optimal results, we recommend attending 3-4 classes per week. However, even 1-2 classes per week can lead to noticeable improvements in strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. Consistency is key, so find a schedule that works for you and stick with it.
-
When will I start seeing results?
Results vary by individual, but many clients report feeling stronger and more toned within 2-4 weeks of consistent practice. You may notice improvements in posture, core strength, and overall body awareness even sooner. For visible changes in body composition, combining regular b • long classes with a balanced diet typically yields results within 6-8 weeks.
-
What should I bring to class?
Bring a water, a small towel, and wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes. Grip socks are required for class because they provide traction on the XFormer. Leave your shoes in the designated area. We sell socks at the front desk if needed!

We strongly encourage arriving at least 5 minutes early to set up and settle in. If it’s your first class please arrive 10 minutes early to go over the machine & class rules.
